How Sweet It Is: a Benefit Singalong Concert with Annie Patterson & friends.

Join Annie Patterson in singing along on “Great American Songbook” standards like “You Belong to Me” and “Penny’s from Heaven”, Broadway show tunes, Motown hits, and folk favorites.

This is a great chance to celebrate love and hope – and to stengthen the bonds of community and resilience among us in these challenging times – and to support the new Resistance Center for Peace & Justice www.theresistancecenter.org/.

Annie is the co-creator (with her husband Peter Blood) of the well-loved songbooks Rise Up Singing and its sequel Rise Again.

She will be joined by bassist and jazz vocalist, Mary Witt of The O-Tones along with Jim Henry on guitar, mandolin and dobro. Jim has performed with a wide range of A-list musicians including Mary Chapin Carpenter, Alison Krauss, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and Los Lobos (among many others!) www.jimhenry.net/ Annie sings on several tracks of Mary’s highly regarded “Groove Duets” CD.

 

Tickets ordered here will be for a “will call list”. On the night of the concert admission will be for a suggested donation of $15-25.  (“Be generous! Be affordable!”) No one will be turned away for inability to pay. The concert is a benefit for The Resistance Center.

If you have a copy of Rise Again already, bring it with you. Copies will also be available to borrow or buy at the concert (you can also pre-order a copy on this webpage).

Amherst Survival noon concert

Open to the public!

Tunes@Noon concerts open to the public at Amherst Survival Center.

The March show will be Mary Witt – vocals & bass, John Caban – vocals & guitar, and Ben Kohn – vocals & piano. A swingin’ mix of Jazz, Blues, Soul, Latin, and more! Groovin’ music with inspiring solos.

For the past two years, the Amherst Survival Center has provided a roster of music performances, on a monthly basis.

With support from a generous gift from a friend of the Center, TUNES@NOON was launched in July 2014.  TUNES@NOON continues into 2015-2016, where musicians come to the Center and perform a variety of music during our lunch on the third Friday of the month.

TUNES@NOON happens the 3rd Friday lunch of every month and is coordinated by Bob Weiner.
