Mary Witt & The O-Tones: Groove Duets
by
•Vocalist Mary Witt leads and plays bass with a soulful band called The O-Tones, which have been a main stay in New England for over 20 years. The rhythm secion of Jeff Dostal/b, Jim Henry/g, Pieter Struyk/dr and Chhris Haynes/keys is supplemented by a horn section and are able to deliver some funky Memphis Stew as on “Drop On Me” or sound like Fleetwood Mac on the poppy “Consequences of Falling.” Witt’s voice is rich and earnest, delivering an easy rock to “Leavin’” and making you feel like The Eagles got a female singer on “Livin’ It.” Upbeat and uplifting.
